The Millennials!!!!

According to the video "The Millennial's are coming" people of my generation are considered to be "Tech savvy, self-centered instead of company centered, want flexible work hours, a casual work environment, and quick advancements, our managers can't be harsh, and need to more like therapists or babysitters, and not only that but our priority is on work-life balance, not the job." I feel like all these comments describe my generation very well. Ask anyone in my generation what would happen if they lost there phone, they would go crazy and buy a new immediately. Managers are not harsh, they word things on clever ways so they would hurt your feelings. Everyone wants flexible hours. People;s main priority is there life not there occupation. It is sad and I hate to say it is true but through observation my opinion is that all of these statements have truth to them. College is indeed sheltering it's students. It is a step between High School and the real world and training for the real world should be its main priority. I do believe that college should indeed train students to be more professional, especially because many households don't. And we do need to learn how to deal, we eventually will. Jobs are scarce and if you quite because you are feeling bossed, then you are dumb. That is why your boss it the boss to boss you around. And as for older generations, i believe some adaptation should occur but overall they should stick true to there ways. It is stated, that millennial's jump from job to job trying to find the one that fits them best. I feel like no matter how many times to jump from job to job there are going to be flaws in every occupation and the cycle will never end. So whats the point. My parents do not have lower expectation for me and brother. They want us to work hard, harder then they did. They see it as we have more opportunities and we should take advantage of them and our work ethic should be stronger then theirs just because they want us to excel. I would not want my parents to be involved with my classes. It is unnecessary and pointless, my parents have already taught me everything they have to offer. After college I will be moving home, just because my family is very very traditional "Italian" and offspring DO NOT leave the home until they are married. That goes for both males and females. My uncle lived in my grandmothers house until he was 42. That is just how it goes. It is the social norm for us. But Americans on the other hand, I really don't thinks it is gonna fly with the parents. Not to say they are mean parents, but they believe in 18 and your out. That is normal for them. My mom is crazy and she asked all our neighbors about internships because they all work for the government and she wants me to have an office job. It is annoying, we talked about it and I told I will ask if i really want an internship, I will take initiative to plan out my future. So she backed down, thankfully. But yeah, I would never want my mom to find me a job. How does that make me look. The benefits at Zappo's are a bit ridiculous don;t get me wrong, work doesn't have to be dreadful, but benefits like these make me wonder how productive can people be in this type of environment? Now I believe in treating employees good but not at the expense of the company. At least not for massages or steaks. Why not just add a bonus to the salary every now and then. It makes no sense to me. I don't need much praise. I want to earn my praise. When I get a promotion or pay raise of something, then I deserve praise but until then leave me alone.
